2009 In Review: 87% of Emails were Spam

Years ago these studies were rolled out with all the pizzazz of ground-breaking medical research, but every year IT teams seem to become just a little bit more numb to it:

…the numbers are in and according to Symantec’s December 2009 state of spam report (download a full copy here) just around 87% of emails sent during 2009 were spam.

We’ll leave it to you to fill in the blank on this one. But here’s to a New Year, new possibilities, and staying productive, protected & secure!

On an unrelated note, we’re taking bets on the 2010 figure – any takers on a > 90% figure?
